EIGHT DIFFERENT EVENTS INVADE THE SOVEREIGN BANK ARENA IN THE MONTH OF MARCH
A variety of events are sure to excite everyone in the family as the Arena prepares for a month with 21 shows.
(TRENTON, NJ – March 5, 2007) Global Spectrum, operators of the Sovereign Bank Arena, are gearing up for a March full of events with 21 shows in 31 days beginning with robotic machines and ending with furry monsters, with something sure to delight everyone in between.
The month kicked off with the FIRST Robotics Regional Competition from March 1 through March 3. Approximately 60 teams from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York City, and from as far away as Israel, Brazil, and the United Kingdom came to compete with their creations. The teams were given a common problem and are given the task of creating a robot using a standard set of parts that would solve the given problem.
Next on tap for the arena was the New Jersey Cheerleading Coaches Association State Cheer Competition. Approximately 1000 cheerleaders took to the floor and performed their routines for the judges on March 4.
The fans of the Trenton Titans get their chance to cheer as they return to home ice for a three-game home stand. The Titans battle the Johnstown Chiefs on March 7 and the Toledo Storm on March 9 and 10.
Not wanting to be left out of the fun on March 10, the Harlem Globetrotters bring their “Nothing Like It” tour to the Sovereign Bank Arena. Fans are sure to be impressed by their amazing ball handling skills and fast paced action when they take on their often-defeated foes, the New York Nationals at 7:30pm.
Don’t forget to set your clocks ahead an hour on March 11, or you’ll be sure to miss the stars of WWE’s Smackdown and the wrestlers of the ECW when they invade Trenton on March 13 at 7:30pm. Once the stars of Smackdown leave, it’s time to “build-up” your home with the first annual Delaware Valley Home Show March 16 through March 18. Over 200 exhibitors will be showcasing their products and services on how to improve your home. After the warm feeling of the home show, the Trenton Titans bring a chill back to the Sovereign Bank Arena when they play their fourth home game of the month against the Johnstown Chiefs on March 21. The Titans fifth and final home game of the month is slated for March 25 versus the Cincinnati Cyclones.
In between the hard hitting action of the Trenton Titans’ final two home games of the season comes the even more hard hitting action of Extreme Challenge 75 – Professional Mixed Martial Arts Cagefighting to the Sovereign Bank Arena. Two title bouts highlight the evening as more than 30 fighters enter the cage in a variety of classes. These Fearless Fighters come to the Sovereign Bank Arena on March 23rd at 7:30pm.
From the monsters in the cage the arena switches to everyone’s favorite furry red monster. Elmo and friends join Professor Art and his helpers, the Palettes, as they travel into their drawings to ancient Egypt, the land of the dinosaurs, and a very musical junkyard. Before Elmo can travel into his drawings, he must first travel to the Sovereign Bank Arena, as he and his friends round out the month of March, appearing for eight shows between March 29 and April 1.
